Visa student killed during class trip

A 13 year old Korean boy died yesterday after a skiing accident that happened on a school trip to Snow Valley Ski Resort. OPP officers and emergency crew were called to Snow Valley ski resort at around 1:15 p.m. to assist the boy who suffered serious injuries. The boy was identified as James and his Korean name was Boo Sung Moon. He was an inexperienced skater and sources say that it was only his second time skiing on the day of his death. He was a visa student and attended Trillium Woods Public School in Richmond Hill. Sources say that he was going down the hill, lost control, and then hit his head against a tree to the side. Unfortunately, he wasn't wearing a helmet. Once they brought him down, they took him to hospital and was pronounced dead. The hill that he died on was named as , "Best Ontario Hill for Kids" by Ski Canada Magazine in 2001. He made a few close friends, and they were most particularly affected by this tragic accident.

In my opinion, I think that this was the boy's fault himself. He wasn't wearing an helmet which is probably most likely why he didn't survive. He was unconscious when the snow patrols found him so clearly he took a hit to the head. If he were wearing a helmet, he would have a much greater chance of not getting as injured. I don't think it was the resorts fault because they cannot control actions of every single person that goes there. if anything, no charges should be pressed on anybody, and James was just a very unlucky boy. Rest In Peace.
