Man sentenced seven years for wife's stabbing...

A labourer's wife, who tried to break up with him, has been stabbed multiple times by her husband because she wanted to end the relationship. As a result, he has been sentenced seven years in prison. The labourer's name was identified as Jose Maria Botelho,52, took a kitchen knife and stabbed his wife,Rosa Gomes, because she was trying to kick him out of her apartment. Five months before the May 2007 attack, he was convicted of assaulting Gomes and was given a suspended sentence and probation, and he is not allowed in her presence after consuming alcohol. Even earlier in 1985, Botelho was convicted of assaulting an ex-wife. Botelho and Gomes were in a relationship for 13 years but it was on and off. Botelho overheard Gomes talking to her male neighbour while he was fixing her Internet connection at her home and Gomes was saying how she can see the end of the relationship, because the feelings that she had for him were going away. Botelho confronted her, and he took a kitchen knife and stabbed her seven times. She was rushed to the emergency room to have her life saved. "There is little doubt that Mr. Botelho has anger management issues ... exacerbated by alcohol consumption," Gans ( the course judge ) said.

In my opinion, this is not inevitable. If she wanted to break up with him, knowing that he's a very angry person, she should have simply just not done it face to face. If he tried to come and find her, then she would have to call the police. I couldn't imagine how much tension could have been built over 13 years to make somebody to stab their loved one.
